A Prehistoric Artifact Gorget from Kentucky. This artifact was often used as a necklace, worn upon the throat or chest. Gorget is derived from the word “gorge” meaning throat.
This artifact is from the Dr. Alston Weaver Collection; circa 1930.
This piece measures about 4″ x 1-3/4″ x 1/2, and weighs 3.5 ounces.
