Description
A natural specimen of Fluorite Crystals (fl.) from Germany. This piece displays some unique colors and phantoms from clear to touches of purple.
Phantoms are a phenomenon where a transparent, or clear, crystal grows over existing crystal layers, leaving the previous growth inside the crystal sometimes showing assorted colors.
(fl.) = Fluorescent. These minerals require a UV light either longwave or shortwave in order to fluoresce. (Not all minerals on this specimen may fluoresce.)
This specimen is from the M. Farber Collection; circa 1976-1992. Acquired through “The Lesnicks” Minerals, New York.
This piece measures about 4″ x 2-1/4″ x 2″, and weighs 12 ounces.
