Natural and genuine Canyon Diablo Meteorite from Arizona.

These Meteorites were originally discovered in 1891. This particular one was found in 1897. A meteor weighing approximately 150 feet across struck the earth in Arizona about 50,000 years ago. The crater this meteor caused is one of he best kept and preserved on the planet. This Canyon Diablo Meteorite is an Iron Octahedrite, coarse (2.0mm) IA type.

This specimen measures about 2″ x 1-1/4″ x 1/2″ and weighs 61.0 grams.
